6/8/12
Finished my project :) Wrote the paper to answer my question and completed the online photo book. yesssss.
Day 31 5/6
I finished scanning all 30-something photos into the computer today and inverted three of the ones with the best definition. working on creating an online album and starting the question paper.
Day 30 6/5
FINISHED PICTURE TAKING TODAY!!!!! :) I finished up with 2 special effect photos; a sideways camera and a mirror picture. I now have my total 10 learning, 10 artistic, 5 special effect and 3 favorite photos. All thats left to do is put togeather the album (either online or in a book) which im hoping to get done tonight. I also have to answer the question but i will have the rest of the week to do so. I am one happy camper. :)
Day 27&28 5/31-6/1
I've been taking more special effect photos for the past two days but not with the best of luck. Wednesday i didnt change out the developer thinking that it wouldnt make a difference but almost none of my pictures turned out probably for that reason. so today i mixed all new chemicals and took pictures of my camera in a mirror to see if it would have any effects. I took two decent pictures which means that i still have 3 more to take. I can see the finish line.
Day 26 5/29
Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend, i sure did!! Today i focused on taking speciall effect photos and sort of deciding what i want to do for them. To begin i decided to take one more photo to wrap up the artistic catagorie. And then for a special effect, i took a picture out of a window. I got an excellent photo and it turned out to be one of my favorite ones! This was jing of mind boggeling for me because i wasnt really sure of where to put it in terms of sunlight in case the window would have effects of how the light passed through. But i put it on the window ledge in a shodow but pointed twords a fairly sunny landscape and left the shutter open for about 35 seconds. Turned out great! 4 mor photos to go!
19 & 20 Continued
First i measured how many watts of light i was getting in different areas. I started by taking a picture of my Wesco cup in the following light levels:
#1 .26 for 30 seconds (next to the building, this was the darkest i could find)
#2 .87 for 30 seconds (it was about halfway between the building and open sunlight but still in shadow)
#3 1.07 for 30 seconds (direct sunlight)
Picture #1 was basically perfect. i got really great deffinition between dark and light. #2 was not as clear and it was a little fuzzy but it was still pretty visable. #3 was very dark and it was pretty clear that the film had been over exposed. So the next day i decided to work on the exposure times for different light levels. For the in-between picture, i did 20 seconds and i was pleased with the results. I decided to do about 12 seconds for the object in direct sunlight since there would be more sunlight and from previos observations it seems that with more sunlight, you will need a shorter exposure time. These were my final results:
#1 .26 for 30 seconds
#2 .87 for 20 seconds
#3 1.07 for 12 seconds
The more sunlight you have in contact with the object you are taking a picture of, the shorter the exposure time should be.
Day 22-25 5/23-5/26
Well, for the rest of this week i finished up picture taking. I took 6 more artistic photos and 2 more that i took turned out to be my favorite. It's about time to wrap things up so all thats left is the special effect photos and answering the question that i turned in. The end is near. :)
Day 19 & 20
The past two days i have been working on the expirament i chose from week two, which was to determine how the different levels of light effect the clarity of pictures. I used a light sensor from Mr. Flak to gage how bright the light on the object was. For each picture i used an old wesco cup that i found outside and i placed the light sensor pointing at the cup to determine how bringht the light was on the object i was photographing. We were trying to decide wether to place it near the camera or the object, but i thought it made more sense to point it twords the cup. This is because i have been keeping the camera in my shadow at all times so as to keep outside light away from the sensative film, so there wasnt ever a change in light levels on the camera.
More to follow..
Day 18
Today was a fairly cloudy day, not ideal for picture taking. I set up a schedule for the rest of my project so that hopefully i can finish up by around next week wednesday. I have about 8 artistic and special effect photos left to take as well as the light exposure experiment and i hope to finish up that by the end of this week. Next week i will scan in all my photos and make my photo album on snapfish so that i will have enough time for it to arrive before the end of the tri.
Days 16&17
So over the past couple days i have eralized that i am running a little bit behind schedule! I need to start choosing a variable to test with my camera and analyze what effects it has on the photos. I am going to measure the amount of light entering the camera as i am taking the pictures and hopefully be able to determine how the light level affects the final outcome. Today i got the CBL system from Mr. Falk which determines the light level and will hopefully be able to take the pictures this Monday.
